Bicyclists, hikers and other trail users should be aware of five trail closures, one permanent, in the Airport and Chapel districts of Sedona.

Beginning Monday, Sept. 22, paving improvements to Airport Road and the parking lot at the Airport Saddle trailhead will close all of the Airport Loop, Brewer, Sedona View and Table Top trails.

“It’ll be a safer, better situation,” said Judy Adams, lands team leader for the Coconino National Forest and a coordinator with the city of Sedona on construction projects. “The parking lot’ll be much nicer. There’s not really parking in the forest.”

Airport Vista will remain open during the improvements on Airport Road, which are ahead of schedule, but those planning to use any of the four affected trails should schedule their use for Wednesday, Oct. 14 — the day after the project is scheduled for completion.
