I’ve become a reality show star. What a whirlwind. The last time I felt this busy was April. I was called back to a second audition for a proposed reality show, while prepping to go out of town for about 12 days, and all that entails.
Besides giving Readings, I was working on arranging interviews with Gregg Braden and the CEO of Heartmath who were coming to town, planning gifts of attendance and badges for friends, etc.
I was scripting and starring in my own weekly Sedona New Age Show. Writing these spiritual newspaper blogs…There was much more, but not to bore you, let it be said…overload. And the trip was a bit much. Overboard!
On my return, the day I set foot back in the locale of my office, I met a man who is now my boyfriend for over 5 months, to date. Taking on a boyfriend added a lot; learning about each other and making adjustments in life.
He’s very handsome, so those around me who already knew him, already desired him. Life became full of new things for me; the joy of romance, but also jealousy about me, gossip about me, and seeming paparazzi snooping for any detail about us.
In the beginning it was, why is he with Her? She’s not as pretty as me. I’m younger, I’m sexier. Ooh, we heard they went to Vegas. Did they sleep in the same room? Same bed? They aren’t together today, does that mean there are problems?
They Still pursue him, luring with their gifts and sensual advances, hoping he’ll change ships any day now… Wow, now they’re living together?!
I found out what it’s like to be on a reality show, without being on a reality show, and talked about, every day, as if I was the subject of “E’ Entertainment News. He did not want to be on a reality show, and I realized I didn’t want that either; for all to presume, gossip, pry and make up stories about us. We’re just like any other couple, and most happy privately.
In fact, we moved in to a beautiful house together and the neighbors picked up our scent. More paparazzi? There I was on moving day, with little sleep. I had shed weight and been working out, so wanted to partake in carrying boxes and going up and down the stairs, like the guys. Including the weeks of packing, I was aching and in pain. To top it off, I took ibuprofen on an empty stomach and got tummy distress too.
Thank goodness he and my close friends, moving us in, treat me like a valuable commodity and decided to take a break for us to eat, relax, and remove my aches and pains. Just then, a lovely woman from our new street, came around our traveling ‘show,’ wanting to meet any one of the moving party.
She found her way to me, the female of the entourage, utterly exhausted in the car as I pulled up to the house with another load. Too tired to want to move, yet she wanted to get her first impression of me then.
Geez, I hardly remember saying hello, nice to meet you, let alone remember her name. So full of challenges the massive work a move-in takes, I could have made a truer impression of my self, if left to choose when that would be best.
Was her intention of coming over, to size us up and form an opinion, or simply bring her good heart to extend her welcome? I hoped she understood that was not the best time, and didn’t feel I wasn’t warm enough. I was so diminished, and it seemed the paparazzi was glaring at our worst time, with little sleep, overwhelmed, overly hungry, pressed for time, not feeling well, and exhausted, dragging with little pep.
If he and I attract attention, presumptions and gossip, who’s to say when and if that will stop. Do we create publicity and drama? Are we reality stars? Seems so. Even in Vegas we were stared at, as if celebrities. We could hardly believe it!
But the accent is on reality. We may simply be reflecting real life. Please notice we are real. Real as in reality. We will bicker sometimes, like anyone, but with the intention of desiring to grow our souls through awareness we agree to bring each other.
I hope we can be seen as people to emulate, in our heartfelt intentions striving to be good, with elevated principles. And hope the ‘fascination and curiosity’ that follows us, ultimately helps others look at their own motivations and actions.
We have been in our house for a while now, and though still the new main act on the block, I’ve learned that they care about us and see the good we give. Nice to know we have supportive fans.
Here we come Hollywood. I would like to thank God and everyone for tuning in and watching us. It continues to make us accountable to ourselves, each other, and you, to act from our highest motivations.
Everyone is a celebrity. Put the paparazzi camera on yourself and shine your best to others. When you can’t live up to others’ perfection expectations, remember we live in reality. We can only do the best we can. It’s up to us to think the best and highest of people. It’s too easy to want to diminish others.
Meantime, don’t believe gossip. Have eyes to really see and ears to really hear. Let the light shine through you. You are a star too. What light are you shining through your ‘character?’

This year we will dress as Cleopatra and The Pharaoh on Halloween. Who will you be, Really, under your mask and costume?
