Five Sedona Red Rock High School seniors may be honored like survivors at their final girls soccer home game Friday, Jan. 23, but they will all be playing together, healthy for one final home game against Page High School at 5 p.m.

Both head coach Juan Carlos Aguilar and his assistant, Will Geurts, hope the girls can build on a second half Wednesday, Jan. 21, in which they held Mingus Union High School scoreless in a 5-0 road loss.

“I love the seniors,” Geurts said. “Our girls are really good at putting it away at the end of the day and getting ready for the next game. We’re proud of the girls.”

Among the five seniors, only four-year midfielder Adrianna Aviles has managed to see time in every game this season, as transfer Jordyn Diepstraten, Sadie Foley, Hannah Johnson and Belgian exchange student Meri Magrone have each missed at least one game of action for SRRHS — most recently in their 5-0 loss Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Mingus Union.
