Both the baseball and softball teams at Sedona Red Rock High School begin preparing for the May postseason Thursday, Feb. 26, at two three-day preseason tournaments.

A return to the Division III state playoffs drives head baseball coach Craig Eagle and head softball coach Mike Keider. The Scorpions have not seen the postseason in four years, and a berth this spring would be the first for both coaches.

Experience is the biggest thing Keider and Eagle are after as seniors Emily Aitken and Scott Moker get first call on the mound beginning Feb. 26, at 5 p.m. with the Sun Blast Softball Invitational in Anthem.

Senior Emily Aitken will pitch as well as play shortstop and in the outfield for the Scorpions softball team this season. Aitken committed to Glendale Community College on Tuesday, Feb. 24.
