According to a letter received from the Sedona-Oak Creek School District by the Sedona Red Rock News, West Sedona School kindergarten through fifth-grade Principal Lisa Hirsch, Ph.D., has decided not to seek a renewal of her position for the 2015-16 school year.
Sent Thursday, March 12, to SOCSD Superintendent David Lykins and the five district Governing Board members, the letter penned by Hirsch stated, “I am writing this letter to notify you of my voluntary decision not to seek a new contract for next year as principal of West Sedona School effective June 30. I have had a magnificent 21 years in this district, and feel privileged to have served as a founding teacher, sports coach, curriculum coordinator and principal.”
“It has also been an honor to work with a terrific staff district wide, and to work with amazing students and their parents in all of my roles for this district,” Hirsch wrote. “I have developed deep connections to this community and I will continue to serve as a citizen of Sedona. I am proud of the following contributions I have made in addition to many more.”
