Humboldt Unified School District has narrowed its search for a superintendent down to five candidates — one of whom is current Sedona-Oak Creek School District Superintendent David Lykins.
“I was excited to have an opportunity to explore this position,” Lykins said Wednesday, March 25, citing HUSD’s excellent reputation in Yavapai County and Arizona as a whole. He expressed admiration for the professional way in which the HUSD Governing Board searched for suitable candidates, as well as gratitude for having made the final list.
“As a professional, this is an opportunity to grow,” he said.
Though comprehensive interviews of each candidate will take place on April 7 and 8, Lykins said that he is unaware of HUSD’s timeline for choosing the next superintendent. In the interim, he said, he is solely focused on his work on behalf of SOCSD.
