Tortas de Fuego rebounded from two July 23 losses that bumped it out of first place in the summer Adult Softball League by avenging its initial loss to Rokzoo Bucket List, 10-6, then sending Red Rocks Rotary into sixth place, 11-5.
With one loss and the night off Thursday, July 30, A Day in the West remained in the top seed in the league, presented by the Sedona Parks and Recreation department. At the other end of the standings, Team ABC Auto Body fell back into the league cellar after not showing up for its 7:30 p.m. game against Another Team.
“I didn’t see a single person show up,” said Shane Byrum, head coach and pitcher for Another Team. “Last time we played them, we actually lost to them after they all showed up in the last 10 minutes, so I don’t know what’s going on with their coach.”
So Byrum got the go-ahead to play his team’s 8:45 p.m. game at 7:30 p.m. — an 11-4 loss to the Dirty Rats.
