Sedona Red Rock High School’s tennis courts will host the 41st Sedona Senior and National Tennis Ratings Program tournament Friday through Sunday, April 29 through May 1.
Proceeds from the tournament, sanctioned by the Sedona Community Tennis Association, will benefit SRRHS and other Verde Valley youth tennis programs.
The tournament draws hundreds of players, 16 to 80 years old, annually from several states, and features open, singles, doubles and mixed doubles events for men and women in five-year age groups.
NTRP tournaments use player ratings for men and women as categories, regardless of age, in singles, doubles and mixed doubles.
A non-sanctioned tournament for Northern Arizona high school players 18 years old and younger will also be offered the same weekend. For more information or to register for the tournament, visit its webpage at the USTA’s TennisLink website.
Adults looking for practice prior to the event can check out new weekly tennis clinics, $20 each for local players, held at Canyon Mesa Country Club, Los Abrigados Resort and Spa and Sunset Park.
