George Sterling Stearns, 88, formerly of Sedona, died Oct. 28 in Billings, Mont.

He was preceded in death by wife Frances Marie Wood Stearns.

He is survived by two daughters; 10 grandchildren; six great-granddaughters; brother Clayton Webster Stearns Jr. [Andrew Rankow]; sister Cynthia Ann [Frank] Nichols; and nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be Saturday, Nov. 26 in Billings. Scattering of his ashes will be in Sedona.

A 2008 graduate of Michigan State University, Andrew Pardiac was a Larson Newspapers' copy editor and reporter from October 2013 to October 2017. After moving to Michigan, then California, Pardiac was managing editor of Sonoma West Publishers' four newspapers in Napa and Sonoma valleys until November 2019.
