Ronne Bruce Roope, 79, of Sedona, died Nov. 5.

After moving to Sedona in 1984, he was active in the community, serving as the first executive director of Jazz on The Rocks. He started two charter schools and taught at Yavapai College. He danced on Broadway and in movies as a child.

A memorial service will be announced later.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Hospice Compassus or Golden Bone Rescue and Rehab.

A 2008 graduate of Michigan State University, Andrew Pardiac was a Larson Newspapers' copy editor and reporter from October 2013 to October 2017. After moving to Michigan, then California, Pardiac was managing editor of Sonoma West Publishers' four newspapers in Napa and Sonoma valleys until November 2019.
