On Friday, Dec. 2, at 5 p.m., the holiday season will begin at Canyon Breeze Plaza. Santa and his helpers will arrive with Mayor Sandy Moriarty to ring in the season of joy on the historic Sedona fire truck. The Sedona Scarletts will open the show with an amazing new dance performance.
The city and chamber of commerce have worked along with the Sedona Main Street Program to make this holiday season extra special by adding new events. There will be craft stations at Canyon Breeze for children to express their artistic side. There will also be a station to write letters to Santa, and they can be delivered to Santa’s very own new mailbox, conveniently located at Canyon Breeze as well.
Music will be provided by David Parker and the Summit Life group, followed by the Desert Star Community School group. The music will start at 5 p.m. Shondra and Tom Jepperson will be on hand as Santa’s helpers and provide entertainment for the kids. There will be free photos with Santa for the first 40 visitors. Goodie bags will be provided to each child by the chamber of commerce and Sedona Main Street Program.
The original tree was decorated in front of the visitor center, but due to the turnout, the tree was moved its current location. A huge thank you to Al Spector, Jesse Alexander and Angela Doyle for graciously letting us use the space in front of Canyon Breeze as a much larger crowd can now be accommodated.
For those who don’t want to brave the cold, Sedona Olde Time Photos at 271 N. SR 89A upstairs, will have Santa at its studio Saturdays,
Dec. 3, 10 and 17, from 5 to 8 p.m. and photos are available for a small fee. Pets are also welcome to come have a photo taken with Santa. For more detailed information, call Dawn at 282-6606.
The community and visitors are invited to come join the fun in kicking off the holiday season with Sedona Main Street Program, the Sedona Chamber of Commerce and the mayor at Canyon Breeze.
