Stewart “Stew” W. Fritts, 79, of Sedona, died Nov. 8.

He served in the U.S. Air Force and graduated from Montana State University. He worked for the National Park Service at Sequoia, Mount Rainier and the North Cascades as a park ranger. He retired from Grand Canyon National Park in 2008 after 48 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna.

A celebration of life was held Nov. 30 at Grand Canyon National Park.

Andrew Pardiac

A 2008 graduate of Michigan State University, Andrew Pardiac was a Larson Newspapers' copy editor and reporter from October 2013 to October 2017. After moving to Michigan, then California, Pardiac was managing editor of Sonoma West Publishers' four newspapers in Napa and Sonoma valleys until November 2019.
