David Richard Mallek, 83, of Sedona, died Jan. 24.

He is survived by his wife Barbara, sister Kathy Feltz of Junction City, Wis., and brother Allan Mallek of Stevens Point. Wis.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Donations in his name are suggested to Mayo Clinic or Best Friends Animal Society.

A 2008 graduate of Michigan State University, Andrew Pardiac was a Larson Newspapers' copy editor and reporter from October 2013 to October 2017. After moving to Michigan, then California, Pardiac was managing editor of Sonoma West Publishers' four newspapers in Napa and Sonoma valleys until November 2019.
