Willard Charles Schade, 98, of Sedona, died Feb. 8.

Born in Beach, N.D., he lived in Sedona since 1989.

He was preceded in death by his son Dennis Schade and daughter LaWana Avillo.

He is survived by his wife Leanne Schade; daughter Penny Martinez of California; and eight step-children.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in California.

A 2008 graduate of Michigan State University, Andrew Pardiac was a Larson Newspapers' copy editor and reporter from October 2013 to October 2017. After moving to Michigan, then California, Pardiac was managing editor of Sonoma West Publishers' four newspapers in Napa and Sonoma valleys until November 2019.
