King celebrated her 15th birthday by helping the volleyball team to a 3-0 win over Chino Valley High School.

What sports do you play?
Soccer, volleyball and track.
Which sport is your favorite?
Soccer has been my favorite throughout my whole life, but recently it’s been volleyball.
What is the best part about your favorite sport?
I think having this cool group of girls is really nice, because we’re all so close.
The worst part?
Probably when I have my bad days because it brings the whole team down. I show my emotions really easily.
What is your favorite sports team?
The USA women’s national soccer team.
What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re not playing sports?
Hang out with my friends.
What is your favorite television show?
“The Office.”
What do you aspire to be when you’re older?
Professional something, soccer player or volleyball player. I just want to do something that involves sports.
What kind of lessons have you learned playing sports?
A lot. Respect, holding my tongue, good work ethic. So many things, that’s just a few of them.
Do you have any pregame rituals?
I wear a pink bow and I visualize how I’m going to play right before. I just sit by myself for a few minutes and visualize me passing, hitting, blocking.
What past experiences have you had playing sports that have inspired you to keep working hard?
Not experiences during sports, but my mom …. I’ve wanted to quit so many times and she’s never let me, so I think she’s the reason why I’m still in sports.
Is there a memorable moment or game in your career you look back on?
When we were going to regionals last year, as a freshman I was a benchwarmer for varsity, and [former coach John Parks] put me in and I got the last two points and we won regionals.
