Don’t miss the big event and your final chance to purchase festival art!

Held in the Sedona Arts Center’s Historic Art Barn, the Plein Air Party and Awards Presentation takes place on Friday evening, October 19 from 5 to 8pm.

This is the big event to cap off a week of paint outs, demonstrations, and creative talks from this year’s Sedona Plein Air Festival.

Artist’s awards are presented throughout this celebratory evening recognizing the best work created during the week including Best of Show and merit awards by Festival Judge Bill Cramer, Artist’s Choice Award, Collectors Choice by ballot and Sedona Arts Center Awards. Art spans two large exhibition spaces, with the artists’ top picks on display and for sale! Enjoy fine wine, fine hors d’oeuvres and fine art, sponsored by Sedona Rouge Hotel and Spa all evening long.

Then, on Saturday October 20, come see festival artists all in one area at one time, as they capture the beauty and charm of Uptown Sedona for the Main Street Paint Out from 10am to noon. All of the twenty-nine nationally and regionally recognized Plein Air artists will have their easels set up on the sidewalks and plazas along Main Street (SR 89A) in Uptown. They are challenged to create a painting from start to finish within the two-hour paint out. Observers will see Sedona through the eyes of the artists, expressed in many different styles using a variety of media. The artist’s subject can be the landscape, people, buildings. foliage, vehicles or anything else along the Main Street that captures their imagination.

This final paint-out is the last chance for visitors and residents to become acquainted with the artists and observe them in action.

At noon, artists will quickly frame their works and bring them to the front of Sedona Arts Center at the north end of Main Street, for award presentations and your last opportunity to purchase this year’s creations! After awards are presented, the public is encouraged to join in a free cook-out outside of the plein air galleries. Final event sales take place between noon and 2pm.

The Sedona Plein Air Festival is our community’s iconic creative event—a week-long celebration of extraordinary landscapes, world-renowned artists, unique workshops, and wonderful free events. Sedona Arts Center dates back 60 years to the founding of Sedona’s identity as an ‘art colony.’ The Festival takes place during the best season of the year—every year—and is supported by a group of very experienced and enthusiastic staff and volunteers. So, come celebrate creativity and enjoy the final two days of the festival and your last chance to collect your next masterpiece at Sedona Plein Air Festival!
