The Arizona Department of Transportation advises motorists who use State Route 179 between Sedona and Interstate 17, through the Village of Oak Creek, to plan for alternating lane closures and delays in both directions starting Monday, June 17, for lane striping.
Nightly lane restrictions will be in place Sundays through Thursdays, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., for approximately two weeks.
In addition to lane closures, access to neighborhoods and businesses will be controlled by flaggers directing drivers through the work zone.
In May, pavement work was completed between the Red Rock Ranger Station and the Chapel Road roundabout. Crews are scheduled to return to complete the final project elements, including pave¬ment markings and lane striping.
Speeds limits will be reduced. ADOT urges motorists to use caution around construction personnel and equipment. Learn more about this project on the project website.
