Sedona’s Art Galleries celebrate freedom of expression during 1st Friday Gallery Tour on July 5, from 5 to 8 p.m. This is a free event celebrating Sedona’s finest art galleries and artists.
Enjoy artist talks, small bites and drinks, connecting with gallery staff and the art. This month, art galleries of Sedona celebrate freedom of expression.
- Aurora Dora Gallery will be featuring the guitar artwork of Anthony Mazella. This musician is also an artist with paint and pen. Mazella has crafted 20 guitar paintings to date, five of which will be exhibited for First Friday.
- While near Uptown, spin around the roundabout and stop into Goldenstein Gallery. Experience colorful paintings focused on artistic s tor i e s highl ight ing buffalo to Arizona landscapes. These works will be sure make any southwest home sing. Also enjoy the American Indian-inspired works of Ben Wright.
- In West Sedona, ALT Gallery will be exhibiting some of the finest estate art in all of Arizona. From sculpture to jewelry, visitors will not be disappointed by the large array of works. While in the gallery, don’t forget to thumb through popular vinyl and out-of-print books.
- Also in West Sedona, The Object of Desire Gallery at A Spa For You will be displaying the watercolors of Thea Draaisma. Brilliant in purples, blues and greens, these inspiring pieces will keep eyes moving in awe.
- Within the Tlaquepaque arts and crafts village, visit Rowe Fine Art Gallery under the Bell Tower. Get your Western fix by exploring the bronze work of Jason Scull.
Accepted into the prestigious Cowboy Artists of America, this sculptor states, “I first became interested in sculpture after taking a Cowboy Artists of America workshop in the 1980s, so it feels like my career has come full circle. Now, I have the huge responsibility of living up to the highest standard in cowboy art.”
- Also within Tlaque-paque, stroll through Renee Taylor Gallery for a fresh look at contemporary gold jewelry. With more jewelry artists than one can count, it will be difficult not to leave with something special for yourself, or someone you care for.
