Sedona Arts Center continues to thrive during SIM construction5 min read

Uptown construction traffic has not thwarted any creativity at Sedona Arts Center! As the digging and paving and rerouting continues, the Arts Center forges on with exhibitions, workshops, classes and special events. The 60-year-old nonprofit has plenty of free parking and easy access to Sedona’s main street.

“We appreciate the strategy being used for the road construction on 89A in Uptown,” says Executive Director, Vince Fazio, “We’ve been able to continue with successful gallery sales due to the ongoing traffic being able to move in both directions  and it is great that construction stops at 1pm on Friday and over the weekend. We are happy to allow uptown tourists to park in our ample lot below the Sedona Arts Center for free. We just ask folks to visit our gallery representing over 100 local and regional artists!”

The Fine Art Gallery at Sedona Arts Center is currently showing works by the organizations dedicated volunteers and staff, while the school has new classes beginning in the ceramic’s studio and brand-new workshops coming up!

“In these hot months of summer, we thought to turn the spotlight onto our own staff and volunteers who themselves are fine artists,” says Gallery Director Cyndi Thau, “We are so excited to offer this opportunity to our staff and volunteer artists! We are grateful for the people who do so much to make our organization thrive!”

Artists are invited to submit a portfolio and application to be juried into the Members Fine Arts Gallery. Submissions are accepted once annually: July 1–31

Art sales support both the artists and the Arts Center’s many educational programs. For the Gallery, marketability is a priority. Creative approaches and content are always valued; and superior craftsmanship is an absolute necessity. Our clientele are looking for fine art gift items, such as functional stoneware or hand blown glass, as well as paintings, jewelry and other two-dimensional art.
