City of Sedona cancels St. Patrick’s Parade due to COVID-192 min read

Out of caution, and in the interest of protecting residents from the potential spread of the coronavirus, the city of Sedona is evaluating large, non-essential city events, in a press release issued late on Thursday, March 12. Because of this, the city has decided to cancel this year’s St. Patrick’s Parade and Irish concert at the Pavilion in Posse Grounds Park on Saturday, March 14.

Future decisions of this nature will be considered on a case-by-case basis. It is too soon to make any decisions about the Food Truck Festival on Saturday, March 28, Celebration of Spring on Saturday, April 11, or other events and activities, and as they near, an evaluation will be made.

As of Thursday, March 12, Northern Arizona Healthcare reports zero cases of coronavirus at Verde Valley Medical Center in Cottonwood and zero cases or coronavirus at Flagstaff Medical Center.

The city is in frequent contact with Coconino and Yavapai counties and their epidemiologists, emergency response teams and policy leaders, healthcare professionals and other stakeholders to monitor the situation daily and follow the guidelines set-forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and state and county government agencies.
