At least one person was killed when a black pickup truck went off the road heading northbound near Midgley Bridge on Friday, March 20, into a steep ravine.

The truck went off the road at a high rate of speed. The accident occurred near Midgley Bridge, outside Sedona city limits. Sedona police, Coconino County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Sedona Fire District crews arrived at the scene, but the incident command is now under the jurisdiction of the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Crime scene investigators are at the scene. It is unclear when the accident occurred, but crews arrived before 1 p.m.

The Coconino County Medical Examiner’s Office is en route as of 2 p.m.
