A Phoenix man was arrested after allegedly fighting with officers outside a home in Uptown.

According to the Sedona Police Department, around 10:30 p.m. Sunday, April 5, a woman reported a man outside of her residence acting belligerently. When police arrived they found Eli Bugler, 26, in the woman’s front yard.

According to a police report, Bugler appeared to reach for an unknown object against the officers’ direction and was detained. During the arrest and detention Bugler fought with the officers, kicking and biting one.

Bugler had to be transported to the Flagstaff Medical Center for jail clearance. While there he attempted to escape and fought with the officer, causing injury to the officer, a security guard and an emergency medical technician. Bugler was transported to the Coconino County Detention Center in Flagstaff for booking where he fought with detention staff as well.

SPD Sgt. Michael Dominguez said Bugler is charged with four counts of aggravated assault against the police officer, paramedic and hospital staff, as well as one count of escape.
