Comet NEO WISE, of ficially known as ÒC/2020 F3 (NEOWISE)Ó shines bright in the northwestern sky on Friday, July 17, over the Verde Valley. The comet was discovered in March during NASAÕs Near-Earth Object Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (NEOWISE) mission. The best time to see the comet is just after sundown, looking to the northwest. The comet can be seen with the naked eye. This particular comet will not be seen again for 6,800 years, according to NASA. The 5-kilometer-wide comet will be nearest Earth on Wednesday, July 22, and Thursday, July 23. "I once took her up Sugarloaf ... It was just spectacular, being surrounded by all of the red rocks on my horse," Van Block said of her favorite ride. When asked what horseback riding trails she recommends, Van Block said, "Down Dry Creek Road at the shooting range [Arizona Cypress Trailhead], there is a huge web of trails that are all very horse-friendly, and that is a great spot to take horses." On the other hand, the team also enjoyed running in the cooler weather.
