The Sedona Police Department is seeking one and possibly two suspects who broke into a marijuana dispensary over the weekend.
On Sunday, Sept. 12 at around 11:28 p.m., a suspect used a chair to break the glass entrance door at the Bloom Dispensary at 465 Jordan Road. The suspect quickly entered the business, taking a few items from where they were displayed for sale before fleeing the business.
Then, at around 1:48 a.m., another suspect entered the business, and like the first, took several more items before fleeing.
According to Sgt. Michael Dominguez of the Sedona Police Department, it’s believed that these were two separate individuals based upon surveillance video from the dispensary. Both have medium to dark brown skin, with the first suspect wearing all black with dark-colored face mask, black beanie, brown gloves and gray shoes. The second suspect was shirtless, had gray sweatpants, gray shoes, black beanie and reddish-pink shirt wrapped around his face. Dominguez said it’s difficult to tell the ages, but in terms of size both appear to be 170 to 190 pounds, with one approximately 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 2 inches in height.
Dominguez said they are investigating why the alarm sounded after the front door was broken, but the police department was not notified by the alarm company until 1:45 a.m.
This is not the first time Bloom has been victim of a burglary. Over a five-week period at the end of 2020, Bloom saw a series of break-ins in which an undisclosed amount of medical marijuana was stolen. A fourth attempt, believed to be by the same individual, occurred in February, but the suspect was unable to gain entry.
“We don’t believe there is any connection to any past Bloom cases,” Dominguez said of the current case.
SPD, in conjunction with Yavapai County Silent Witness, is offering up to a $400 cash reward for information leading to the arrest of this subject. If you see this individual do not attempt to contact or detain.
