The Arizona Department of Transportation is advising motorists to plan for daytime lane restrictions along a 6-mile stretch of State Route 179 north of Interstate 17 on Wednesday, Nov. 17, and Thursday, Nov. 18, as crews perform lane-striping work.
Drivers should be prepared to stop and proceed through the work zone with caution, watching for construction personnel and equipment, while the following restrictions are in place from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.:
■ SR 179 will be narrowed to one lane only with alternating north- and southbound travel between I-17 and the Red Rock Ranger Station [milepost 299 to 305].
■ Flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone.
■ The lane striping will be done on one-half-mile sections of the road at a time. This will enable portions of SR 179 to reopen as crews complete the work and move on to other sections of the roadway.
■ The speed limit is reduced to 45 mph.
