One of Sedona’s favorite holiday events is back this year after the city canceled it last year. The 11th annual Breakfast with Santa will take place on Dec. 4 from 8 to 10 a.m.

“Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we were unable to host the event last year,” said Sedona Parks and Recreation’s Recreation Coordinator Lynnette Chavez, organizer of the breakfast. “This year, smaller groups will be welcomed into The Hub for their visit with Santa, and breakfast will be served and enjoyed outdoors. Masks are encouraged, but not required.”

Similar to previous years, the Posse Grounds Hub at Posse Grounds Park will host the breakfast. Free pancakes will be served until 9:45 a.m. in the tent in front of the park.

Sedona Parks and Recreation partnered with the Sedona Elks Lodge 2291, an American fraternal order, to organize the event. Elks Lodge members Rick Kimberly and Glen Smith will be cooking the pancakes all morning.

During the breakfast, holiday carols will be sung by the Red RockAppella chorus, a Sedona-based acapella group. The chorus group has sung in many holiday events around Sedona.

But the real showstopper will be Santa’s visit to Sedona from the North Pole. Children will be able to tell St. Nick their Christmas wishes and parents will be able to snap pictures for their holiday greeting cards. Santa will also be bringing a few of his famous reindeer to share in the breakfast. Pictures with Santa Claus will be available during the entire event.

Since the event will be held outdoors, organizers ask attendees to dress accordingly. More information about Breakfast with Santa can be found on the city website.
