Mona Lisa Ponce, 59, of Sedona, died Dec. 8.

She was born Nov. 23, 1962, in Salinas, Calif.

She is survived by her parents, Ramona and Felix Ponce, sisters; Ernestine [Dom] Losada, Rowena [Jerry] Mayo and Evie Ponce; brother Felix [April] Ponce, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She holds a BA in Journalism from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and worked in corporate communications in insurance and health care for several years, handling marketing and public relations duties. Fur-mom to two cats and three dogs, she is semi-retired.
