Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter has announced a vacancy on the Sedona-Oak Creek School District Governing Board. The opening was created by the resignation of Governing Board Member Barbara Trautwein, “due to circumstances outside of my control.” The resignation is effective Saturday, Oct. 1.
The press release stated that “the services that Ms. Trautwein provided to the students, parents and residents of the school district is greatly appreciated.”

Candidates should include information about themselves, why they would like to be a board member, their residence and mailing addresses and home/work phone numbers.
Candidates may include letters of recommendation or support if they wish.
To be eligible to hold this seat a person must be a registered voter, a citizen of the United States, at least 18 years of age, possess their civil rights, have continually resided within the school district for at least one year immediately preceding taking office and they or their spouse cannot be employed by the district or work as a third-party provider for the district. This is a non-partisan seat.
Deadline for receipt of letters of interest is Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 5 p.m. Carter will interview finalists at the SOCSD office on Monday, Sept. 26. The appointment should be announced by Tuesday, Sept. 28, and be valid from Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022, through Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024. Call Carter at (928) 925-6560 for information
