The Arizona Department of Transportation advises motorists to allow extra travel time and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while the closures and restrictions below are in place throughout the 23-mile project area from Sunday, Jan. 8, to Saturday, Jan. 14:
Controlled Rock Blasting Schedule
Expect delays of at least one hour and backups of about 2 miles.
- I-17 will be closed in both directions between New River and Table Mesa roads (mileposts 233-237) from 10 to 11 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, Wednesday, Jan. 11 and Thursday, Jan. 12. The on-ramp to southbound I-17 from Table Mesa Road, and the on-ramp to northbound I-17 from New River Road will be closed at the same time.
- Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane (left lane closed) between Table Mesa and New River roads (mileposts 237-233) nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning the evening of Tuesday, Jan. 10, to the morning of Friday, Jan. 13, for controlled rock blasting traffic control.
Intermittent north- and southbound lane restrictions also scheduled Sunday to Saturday, Jan. 8 to 14
Slow down and expect alternating left- and right-lane closures throughout the project area nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning the evening of Sunday, Jan. 8, to the morning of Saturday, Jan. 14.
