On Friday, June 16, Northern Arizona Healthcare announced Josh Tinkle, who served as chief operating officer prior to acting as interim chief executive officer, is no longer with the hospital network.
Tinkle had been serving as interim CEO since Aug. 12, when the board announced that Florence “Flo” Spyrow had “stepped down as the system president and chief executive officer.”
Northern Arizona Healthcare’s Board of Directors announced June 5 that CEO Dave Cheney advanced his start date and began in his role as CEO Monday, June 12. Hired in April, Cheney was originally scheduled to begin on Monday, July 10.
“Dave’s accelerated start date follows the board’s decision to place acting CEO Josh Tinkle on administrative leave during a personnel investigation,” NAH stated in an email on June 5. “NAH’s Board of Directors understands this information is likely to prompt many questions, but it is not appropriate to further comment on personnel actions.”
NAH officially provided no other details about the investigation.
NAH stated in a press release that it will soon begin recruiting for a chief operating officer. Cheney said he is looking forward to conducting an extensive search to find a new COO who is the right fit for the position, which oversees operations throughout the regional medical system.
