Byron Brooks McKeown, 89, of Sedona, died May 4.
A U.S. Army veteran, he pursued higher education at the Kansas City Art Institute, majoring in industrial design. His career spanned several fields, including interior and point-of-purchase design, and various creative positions with Graphics International and Hallmark Cards. After moving to Sedona in 1979, he created two art galleries in Tlaquepaque arts and crafts village.
He is survived by his wife, Deanne; daughter Lesley [Steven Ayres] McKeown; son Sean [Wendy] McKeown; grandsons James [Kaylie] and Christopher McKeown; and great-grandson James McKeown.
