In July, the greater Sedona community is being challenged to fill blood drives on three consecutive days. The American Red Cross is hosting drives on July 17, at Sedona Winds Assisted Living, and July 18, at the Church of the Nazarene, both in the Village of Oak Creek, and on July 19 at the Sedona Community Library in West Sedona.

If you’re a regular donor, haven’t donated in a while or have never donated, now is the time to donate. Please help this challenge be successful by making an appointment to donate at www.redcross. org/blood, on the Red Cross blood donor app or by calling 1 (800) 733-2767. Having an appointment is encouraged and will ensure your donation is accepted. Walk-ins are accommodated when possible.

With the increase in blood drives, more blood donor ambassadors are needed, especially in West Sedona. Blood donor ambassadors are the friendly people who greet and register donors, and check on donors after they donate. The time commitment is about five hours per month. For more information on becoming a blood donor ambassador, contact janet.dubiel@redcross.org.

Currently-scheduled drives in the area are:

Wednesday, July 17: Sedona Winds Assisted Living, Village of Oak Creek

Thursday, July 18: Village of Oak Creek Church of the Nazarene
