Rockne Hart Johnson, 94, of Sedona, died Aug. 16.

An oceanographer, he discovered MacDonald Seamount, an active submarine volcano.

He was predeceased by his parents; brother, William; daughter, Lilinoe; and grandson, Hans.

He is survived by his wife, Glennis; children, Dane, Moanilehua [Chris] and Kaleihanamau [Carlos]; stepchildren Heidi [Rallin] and Terence [Camille]; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, June and Helen; and several nieces and nephews.

Services in Hawaii will be announced at a later date.
