West Sedona School announced on Thursday, Dec. 12, that due to a staff shortage, WSS will not be able to continue running its before-school care program when post-winter break instruction resumes on Tuesday, Jan. 7.
“If you are someone who relies on that before-school care, please make alternate plans until arrangements are made to staff that position,” WSS Principal Alisa Stieg said. The program, which formerly ran from 6:50 to 8:20 a.m., Monday through Friday, usually served around 27 students. The lone staff member who had been covering the morning shift is no longer able to do so.
“If you are someone interested in earning some extra money and are available between 6:50 and 8:20 a.m., please contact [Stieg] immediately by calling (928) 204-6601 or emailing [Stieg] at stieg@sedonak12.org,” the announcement stated. “We deeply apologize for the inconvenience we know this will cause.”
