James “Jim” Andrew Close, 83, formerly of Arizona, died Dec. 16.

He worked as a nuclear engineer at Idaho National Laboratory and headed the local figure skating club.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen; children, Mary Ellen [Pat], Tamara, Jamie [Bret] and Mark; and grandchildren, Andrew and Donovan.

A celebration of life will be held after the holiday season.
