David Key hired as president & CEO of the Greater Sedona Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau2 min read

The Greater Sedona Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau is proud to announce David Key as its new president and CEO.

“A dynamic leader with extensive experience in nonprofit management, business development and workforce innovation, Key brings a visionary approach to fostering sustainable growth in Sedona’s business and tourism sectors,” the chamber stated.

Key joins the Greater Sedona Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau following a successful tenure as director of Business Development at the Tempe Chamber of Commerce, where spearheaded strategic partnerships with organizations such as the city of Tempe, State Farm and Arizona State University.

Among his achievements was the establishment of a scholarship program in partnership with Amazon and Rio Salado Community College for the Tempe Workforce Skills Accelerator program, which provided critical upskilling opportunities to the local workforce through innovative collaborations.

“We are thrilled to welcome David Key as the new President and CEO of the Greater Sedona Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau,” Mike Wise, chairman of the chamber Board of Directors, stated in the press release. “David’s desire to lead and enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and local business are perfectly aligned with our mission to champion sustainable economic growth, while preserving the unique beauty and culture of Sedona.”

A graduate of Arizona State University with a degree in business management, Key’s passion for lifelong learning and entrepreneurship underpins his leadership philosophy. Key’s diverse professional background also includes a decade in the entertainment industry as a concert promoter and tour manager, experiences that sharpened his skills in event management, stakeholder engagement and innovative thinking.

Recognized as a 2023 “40 Under 40” Emerging Leader by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, Key has also served in prominent leadership roles with the Western Association of Chamber Executives, including as co-chairman for the 2025 WACE Annual Conference.

Key’s appointment “marks an exciting new chapter for the GSCC&TB as the organization continues to champion the interests of local businesses and enhance Sedona’s reputation as a premier destination for visitors from around the world,” the chamber stated.

“I am honored to step into this role at such a pivotal time for Sedona’s business and tourism communities,” Key stated. “I look forward to working alongside local stakeholders, fostering collaboration and driving initiatives that position Sedona as a model for sustainable growth and vibrant community engagement.”
