Public Invited to Experience Creekside Art-making Thursday, April 28 from 9 a.m. to noon.
Sedona Arts Center is continuing to evolve its plein air programming with a Creekside Community Paint Out at L’Auberge de Sedona on Thursday, April 28 from 9am to Noon. Thanks to the L’Auberge management and arts advisor Linda Goldenstein, dozens of artists will be painting across the grounds with awards and public sale of art following the paint out. The event is free and open to everyone, and artists in any medium can register at SedonaArtsCenter.org or in person in Uptown Sedona. The public is invited to attend, meet the artists, and watch as they complete plein air paintings on site—working from the natural scenes along the banks of Oak Creek.
Local artists can register online to join this event, using whatever artistic medium they prefer. Participating artists can set up anywhere along the L’Auberge Creekside, from 9am, with subject matter ranging from calm to rushing water, foliage, sky and reflections, architecture, people, otters and ducks! On site painting will conclude at noon with sales and awards until 1:00pm.
As parking is very limited at the resort, Pink Jeep Tours will be shuttling artists and the public from the Sedona Arts Center’s lower parking lot to nearby L’Auberge reception area, back and forth from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm. Bring a friend, watch new art created on the spot, and support Sedona’s growing plein air painting tradition!
Information for Participating Artists:
Members of the Sedona Arts Center can register to participate at no cost: for non-members, there is a $10.00 registration fee. The total number of artists for this community plein air paint out is limited to 50. At noon, artists who wish to sell their paintings (should be framed or gallery stretched) will be invited to place their works (on their own easels) on the large lawn located to the right of the L’Auberge Wedding Gazebo, creekside.
Artists must provide their own materials, portable easels, frames and paints. Artists will price their own work using three part receipts provided by the Sedona Arts Center. Sales will be processed by the Sedona Arts Center from noon to 1:00pm. You must be registered to paint and sell your work at the event.
Please park at the Sedona Arts Center lot. Pink Jeep Tours will provide a frequent shuttle from there to the L’ Auberge reception area, between 8:30 am (for artists) to 1:30 pm.
