It may seem like everyone you know is into real estate in Sedona. I often hear numbers tossed around at parties – like there is one Realtor per every 4 people in Sedona… But in all acutality – the numbers are dropping. When the market was strong some people thought it would be easy money to be in real estate, but the market has cooled and only the strong are surviving. The Sedona Verde Valley Association of Realtors topped out last year at about 970 Realtors… and right now we’re down to 940. I’ve personally seen people leave the business, so I thought the number would be low- but the board office says that “They keep signing up as fast as others leave!”. Of these agents… less than 200 have had a sale in Sedona this year. That’s less than 20% of the association. If you narrow it further – to agents that have had at least 3 sales, then you’re talking about only 69 people. That means only 7% of the agents are busy! I’m hoping that this shows 2 things… Realtors definitely don’t have it easy… and there aren’t as many busy Realtors as you’d think.
