Child dies after 50-foot fall on Midgley Bridge Trail1 min read

On Saturday, Sept. 2, at approximately 2 p.m., Coconino County Sheriff’s office deputies, Sedona Police Department officers, U.S. Forest Service crews and Sedona Fire District firefighters responded to Midgley Bridge for a report of a 2-year-old child that fell what was estimated 50 to 60 feet down a cliff along the Huckaby Trail that passes under Midgley Bridge.

Sedona Fire District personnel rappelled down the cliff and found the child deceased. The family of the child is on vacation visiting the area from Omaha, Neb.

The case remains under investigation by the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office and Coconino County Medical Examiner’s Office.
