Pepsi Amphitheater at Fort Tuthill Park has announced the Friday, June 14, concert appearance of Grammy award-nominated Rebelution as part of the reggae rock group’s Good Vibes Summer Tour with special guests PROTOJE, Durand Jones & The Indications and DJ Mackle.
This will be the first performance by Rebelution at Pepsi Amphitheater, a venue set amidst the largest contiguous Ponderosa Pine Forest in the world. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.
The outdoor venue in Northern Arizona’s Coconino County, near Flagstaff, is nestled amidst the largest contiguous Ponderosa Pine Forest in the world.
Beginning in 2004 in the college town of Isla Vista, Calif., the group started playing local shows while finishing their degrees at UC Santa Barbara. Over the last 15 years they have become a staple of the reggae rock genre and have gained massive recog¬nition. The band’s very first studio album was named the iTunes Editor’s Choice: Best Reggae Album of the Year in 2007. In 2017, the album Falling into Place was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of Best Reggae Album and spent more than 60 weeks on the Billboard Reggae chart in the number one spot.
Their 2018 release Free Rein and their 2019 release Vinyl Box Set both topped the Billboard Reggae albums chart in 2019. Their laidback “summery” sound is matched only by their artistry and technical skills. The group pays homage to the traditional roots of reggae while also being influenced by their California start and their own rock n’ roll attitudes.
General admission tickets are $37.50 and are available at PepsiAmp.com.
