Donna Smith, of Sedona, died Oct. 14.
Born in Joliet, Ill., she completed degrees in mathematics and education and began a teaching career in Riverside, Calif., eventually becoming math department chair at Ramona High School. After retiring to Sedona, she tutored children in math and took up quilting. She was a member of the Sedona Quilting Guild and had a passion for making charity/military quilts for the Folds of Honor.
She is survived by her husband of 60-plus years, Noel; children Cindy and Scott; and grandchildren Michelle and Michael.

Jo Page has worked at Larson newspapers as typesetter since 2010. She holds a BA in Journalism from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and worked in corporate communications in insurance and health care for several years, handling marketing and public relations duties. Fur-mom to two cats and three dogs, she is semi-retired.
