We all know February brings Valentine’s Day love. Whom do you love? Whom do you withhold love from? Whom do you wish you could share love with again? Whom do you hope will love you? How do you love, how are you being loved, do you love yourself, and what is love?
There’s brotherly love, a mother’s love, romantic love, self love, love of country, love your neighbor, love of God, unconditional love, and a love of baseball, or shoes, and especially chocolate.
When I was a child, every birthday party was hearts and red and pink themed because I was born 7 days before Valentine’s day. I liked that, and maybe it drove it home to me that I was a heart and love person. I’m known in Sedona as the Intuitive Heart Soul Guide.
So many people in my birth family were born in February (not to mention friends). Yet the word love wasn’t abundantly used growing up in those days. Hugging wasn’t as popular as it is now, and it wasn’t until my former husband introduced me to lots of hugs and saying ‘I love you,’ often, that I introduced it to those I loved. It’s interesting that it still doesn’t roll off my tongue as easily as saying most anything else, but I say it anyway, because it truly means something for me to tell those that mean the world to me, how much I value them. And to hear the word, love, said back to me goes straight to my heart. A feeling of being special to someone spreads through me.
Whether you say ‘I love you’ without even having to think about it, or it‘s like pulling teeth to say it, how about going within to ask yourself, when I say it, am I giving myself the gift of actually feeling the love we have, or has it become desensitized and roll off the tongue as blandly as the word, ‘the.’ That word ‘love’ can actually cause a vibration that affects us in a healthy way. The Bible says, ‘in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God and the word was God.’
If you haven’t said that word lately, go within to ask yourself have I taken the time to count the ways I value this person in my life, and would I like to give them a gift that costs nothing, but is worth so much; a feeling that will affect them in a healthy, vibrant way, simply by my spoken word? If that word is hard to come by, how about, ‘I really value you.” And a hug or a handshake. Or instead of, ‘I appreciate that,’ ‘I appreciate You.’
Has there been a falling out with someone? Sometimes those can be easily repaired with a word, or it may be good to keep healthy boundaries, but we can still love the divine and good essence in that person and wish them well, as truth be told, we are all from the same source, and loved unconditionally.
I believe life is eternal, we don’t really die. You can’t kill energy, and we are energy; we transform. We stay with the same large group (why it seems like we already know certain people), agreeing to play varying roles in order to help each other grow and balance old imbalances; like what it takes to become a diamond by rubbing against a hard/difficult surface/situation. We forget that we asked them to play a scenario so get caught up in blame and pointing the finger, instead of realizing they are our gift as we requested. We forget to ask ourselves why did I feel I needed this situation; how was I to elevate from it? So even changing perception about one who has passed on, can be appreciated and returned by that one. It probably already changed back to love for you when that one transformed from life to life after life. What isn’t love, is simply fear. What did you, or do you, fear? The word ‘amen’ means ‘and so it is.’ So let the light of love, God, divine or source energy, no matter what ‘it’ is called, shine through you, so that it is, only love. You’ll love yourself for it.
