Two vehicles and a motorcycle were involved in a collision Tuesday evening, May 22.

The accident occurred around 9:45 p.m. near the intersection of Airport Road and State Route 89A. The operator of the motorcycle was transported from the scene of the crash to Flagstaff Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, according to Sedona Fire District Public Information Officer and Fire Marshal Gary Johnson. There were no other injuries. Two lanes of traffic were closed along State Route 89A following the incident.

SFD crews responded to another collision involving a motorcycle Saturday, May 19, along State Route 89A. That motorcyclist received minor injuries.

The two recent incidents followed on the heels of two fatal motorcycle crashes in Sedona on May 9 and May 10 on State Route 89A. John Conrad, 81, of Sedona, was killed May 9 when his motorcycle was struck by a vehicle near Andante Drive. Des Havasi, 67, of Sedona, was killed May 10 in an incident near the intersection of Dry Creek Road and State Route 89A. Havasi, operating a dirt bike, was not believed to be wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
