Multiple homes caught fire in the Village of Oak Creek after noon on Friday, May 25.
Sedona Fire District Public Information Officer and Fire Marshal Gary Johnson said residents should stay indoors due to the heavy smoke.
Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is restricting traffic on the streets where homes are on fire.
An eyewitness said an recreational vehicle exploded and the wind carried the flames to other homes, causing them to also catch fire.
Homes were evacuated near Jacks Canyon Road across from Sedona Winds, an assisted living retirement community.
