The Walk of Fame5 min read

I’m recently home in Sedona from a long business and pleasure trip throughout California and Las Vegas. Only by coincidence did I see the walk of fame celebrity stars imbedded in the sidewalk outside Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, driving to the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel across the street, for an appointment.

I had never been to Las Vegas, and felt called to start there, which would enable me to break up an 8 hour drive to LA, into two four-hour stints.

What a Welcome to Las Vegas. It was just nighttime, and as I turned onto ‘the strip’ the voice of Andrea Bocelli thrilled me, with my first sight the Bellagio’s water show. I pulled over, enjoyed, then drove up and down the strip in awe and loved it.

I had a spiritual appointment in the morning, then next to celebrity hair colorist Michael Boychuck at his salon in Caesar’s Palace. Before leaving I was given hair coloring recommendation, and got a couple of hair products. Later I spent hours in The Venetian, enjoying the fresco paintings in the style of the Sistine Chapel on the ceiling, and having an outdoor gondola ride being sung to by my gondolier. The light show over the façades of replicated famous Venetian buildings was gorgeous and musically moving.

Once in LA, first thing in the morning I met with celebrity hair colorist Michael Canale (creator of Jennifer Aniston’s famous hairstyle, ‘the Rachel’ from TV’s “Friends”) who, along with his client, bought many Young Living medicine-grade essential oils from me. I also met with famous hairstylists Joseph Kendall and Martin Fassnidge, of Joseph Martin on Rodeo Drive. I gave everyone my brand of positive spiritual insight.

I was treated to the Hollywood Bowl for the 100th anniversary of Paramount Pictures with the HB orchestra led by David Newman, and we had good seats. Comedian and six time emmy award winner Bruce Vilanch walked by, and in front of us was a famous Hollywood couple whose names we couldn’t remember. Jason Alexander was our moderator and Lalo Schifrin spoke after we watched some of Mission Impossible backed by his dramatic theme song.

I ate often at the well-known Nate & Al’s Delicatessen in Beverly Hills. Each time I was surrounded by movie, TV and music industry people, but the only name I know, is Jada Pinkett Smith.

Malibu was beautiful, as were the beaches of Redondo, Manhattan, Hermosa and Rancho Palos Verdes where I sat in Frank Lloyd Wright’s Wayfarer’s Chapel overlooking the Pacific. In Encinitas I spent time at Paramahansa Yogananda’s Self Realization Fellowship Temple’s meditation gardens, right on the Pacific. I gave spiritual counsel in beautiful Carlsbad.

Told to not miss The Grove, divine timing had me arrive just in time to be in the camera range for TV’s “Extra” host Maria Menounos to interview the cast of the new show, “The New Normal.” Did you see me on TV?

I saw the hilarious musical from NYC, ‘Silence, the Musical’, based on Silence of the Lambs, and met my friend’s son, Nate Patten, the musical director/conductor. Seeing his mom and her sister for the first time since I was 10, was a thrill for me.

The best I save for last, and it was perhaps the most entrancing, soul-lifting spiritual experience I have ever had in a metaphysical setting. I was taken to Agape in Culver City, led by the famous spiritual icon, Michael Beckwith. He’s in the movie, The Secret, and I had seen him on Oprah years ago. We sat through the meditation service before more people streamed in, and we had good seats. It was beautifully decorated and backlit in light turquoise and green; artwork donning walls.

The building was somewhat dimly lit for relaxation and music began with incredible solo singers backed by a great band on the stage; one singer after another and we all were clapping and singing along sometimes, seeing the words on movie screens showing the person performing. Not songs that are slow and repetitive, that can drone on, but jazzy soul music that is not outside of many’s comfort zones. Music that stimulated our feelings of elevated bliss more and more.

By the time Michael Beckwith went into his passionate and rousing spiritual service we were already raised within, having had plenty of time singing of God’s gifts, listening to great singers, and connecting with each other. There wasn’t mention of any individual religious icon, as in whom to worship above any other; simply the unifying feeling of the greatness of the one God presence which is within everyone.

If I can translate, it would be to say that instead of seeing only cause and effect from what most believe is reality…i.e. problems, to start with content, instead. Content being identifying what we have within and around us; the beauty, art, graciousness, perfect flow and movement, connection with divine timing, gratitude, generosity, abundance, love, respect, integrity, peace, creativity, miraculous experience, joy and more that is God. That is our content. And when we create cause from that truth; that content, effect is miraculous, loving, creative, peaceful, joyous, etc. Personally I cherish living that way, and desire that for all of us to know and live from.

Straight from Agape, a farewell lunch with my cousin, then back to Vegas. I received the thrill of the full Caesar’s Palace experience, had several spiritual appointments, and received the supreme iconic gift of pumping gas next to an Elvis impersonator on my way to dinner with a friend. Every person I spent time with on my journey, was lovely lovely lovely. Then it was time to drive Miss Daisy Rachel back home to famous Sedona.
