The volleyball girls of Sedona Red Rock High School are commanding the court with a flawless record.

With just one month left of games for the 2012 season, the Scorpions dominated in a tournament last weekend and are undefeated with 12 wins.

On Tuesday, Sept. 18, the Scorpions crushed the Chino Valley Cougars, barely giving them a chance to catch up to them. SRRHS won in three sets in less than an hour.

McKenna Woodford started the game with a point off her first serve. Chino Valley played good defense at the net while the Scorpions were diving on the floor for saves. Chino Valley took the lead by two before Sedona tied it up at three and took the lead for the rest of the set.

With great teamwork, the Scorpions defended their side of the net, making it difficult for the Cougars to score any points. They were also hitting the ball back over the net in a way that forced the Cougars to awkwardly hit the ball out of bounds. Libero Holly Drotzmann, setter Brenna Barker and outside hitter Megan Wzientek had amazing saves to give the Scorpions the win for the first set, 25-14.
