Do we live most of our time in illusion? Let’s check it out. We begin and end each day in sleeping dreams, somewhat aware of the illusions floating in our consciousness. Do we spend as much time talking about the mystery of our sleep and dreams as we do about the habits of the TV ‘housewives’? The wonderous fact that when our body gets weak and tired, we have no choice but to surrender ourselves and lay it down, giving up control…asks the question, do we have an illusion that we think we are in control of ourselves 24/7?
Time is an illusion. Have you ever experienced a lengthy situation that seemed like a short time, or a brief time that seemed to last forever? When we meet a new person that we feel we would like to know better in a meaningful way, don’t we begin having illusions about what a potential future together might look like, and expect it to happen right away?
What about having the illusion of expecting things being done unto you as you were raised. How we were raised is likely different than someone else, causing differences in behavior, bringing about, perhaps, an illusion of expecting what we would deem appropriate actions, thereby causing our own dismay realizing we were living in a personal illusion. We can wake up.
Lest we not forget the illusions brought about by consumption of alcohol, drugs, pot, cigarettes, etc. I say cigarettes because I remember when I smoked there were smoke screens in my mind, and I couldn’t think clearly how to solve issues in my life. Once I successfully tackled that addiction, my mind immediately became sharp and I rapidly set about bettering my circumstances.
When we think about mass killings, even solitary killings, and dig to get to the core impulses, we uncover some facts. Gun control always comes up, yet ponder another. We find we are looking at mental illness and delusions, yet we are usually also looking at the effects of prescribed mind-altering drugs. We feel we must look into a person’s home and childhood environment. How many love children so protectively that we might choose our own illusion of delusion over facing disturbing warning signs? It’s a rare parent that is a psychologist or psychiatrist, and even if we were, might we still be in denial about our own precious offspring?
Many, if not most, do the best they can for their children, with what they know. Parenting can easily be called the most challenging job on the planet. We carry forward deep generations of behavior. Who gets holistically re-trained? Who seeks training? Dare we guess how many parents have their own unresolved emotional issues?
Those that take their children to professional counselors often leave the office with powerful mind-altering medication to dull the child or potentially make them happy; with ‘happy’ pills. How much actual time and talk goes on in the home, helping kids through their issues before they reach a critical point? How much talk therapy takes place anymore in the professional counseling setting? It seems so many psychiatrists are only in the industry of prescribing anymore, and have we done our homework before giving the almighty power to doctors who have a practice; thereby are practicing, before ingesting psychotropic mind-altering pills like candy? Google it and read, ‘It’s important to note that psychotropic medications don’t cure mental disorders. Prescribing psychotropic medications such as antidepressants, is controversial because they have also been associated with causing aggressive behavior or suicidal thoughts.’ Mental illness needs more attention, and an organic approach, and the Bible gives us a clue, as in, ‘physician heal thyself.’ There are natural methods that offer undeniable remedy and long-term results.
Dare I ask us all to look at the pharmaceutical companies rewarding physicians for giving out their samples and pills for popping like gumdrops? Dare I remind you of what we’ve been shown about the government’s monetary funding from these companies, keeping a crackdown from taking place, as well as new and better medications being able to surface because the companies just change an ingredient to keep their (what I call harmful) products current, and from making way for the new others waiting in line? Are we in a delusional stupor listening to their TV commercials actually telling us about the serious dangers of the drug they want us to ask our doctor for? These days schools are allowed to recommend a child be put on medication or they ban them from the school.
In England, just a decade or so ago, benzodiazapenes became outlawed, unless given in hospital settings and only for a maximum of three weeks. Don’t know what benzos are? Google xanax, valium, klonopin…read for yourself how they eventually adversely change a person’s thoughts and behaviors. Read how many die trying to get off the drugs and others who say it is easier to just stay on them, a choice of hells. There are support groups for the masses who live this way. For the sake of fully lifting the veil of illusion, also look at SSRIs. Do you know what they are? An exorbitant number of humans take them happily. Antidepressants; Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil, etc.
At this point I recommend the website www.drugawareness.org to learn about the real dangers of these prescription drugs and their indisputable connection with mass and single murders in the headlines. Let’s not overlook with delusional illusion the facts of how they effect us all in some way, even if it is soul wounded mourning for others’ situations. If you look into The International Coalition for Drug Awareness headed and staffed with directors globally that are medical doctors and Ph.D’s, you will learn about the links to these drugs in almost every case of these murders.
With the end of the Mayan calendar purported to be within a day or two, let’s refer to one of the literal meanings of Maya from Wikipedia. In Indian religions it is “usually quoted as ‘illusion,’ centered on the fact that we do not experience the environment itself but rather a projection of it, created by us. Māyā is the principal deity that manifests, perpetuates and governs the illusion and dream of duality in the phenomenal Universe… Each person, each physical object, from the perspective of eternity, is like a brief, disturbed drop of water from an unbounded ocean. The goal of enlightenment is to understand this—more precisely, to experience this: to see that the distinction between the self and the Universe is a false dichotomy. The distinction between consciousness and physical matter, between mind and body is the result of an unenlightened perspective.”
Apocalypse literally means lifting the veil. The Maya calendars counted time as related to changes in consciousness. It is simply time to begin a new calendar, counting time in an awakened, aware, enlightened state of mind. Happy Awareness. Peace on earth, good will toward all!
