Gemini and the Hood5 min read

I could subtitle this Sedona the Beautiful. Though I’ve lived here for years, there are a lot of neighborhoods I still haven’t seen. I’m happy where I live, yet have been looking around recently for a potential new location, and taking leisurely drives through so much more of Sedona than I’ve ever seen before.

Most areas have one thing in common. They are breathtaking beyond words, and inspire feelings that open the heart. From what I see, I venture to say there are more homes with red rock views than not, but what’s less common are the prices paid for a view.  I saw a lovely 3+/2 spacious residence with good amenities, in a sweet neighborhood, which is affordable for even a single working person, and the panoramic red rocks view was million dollar; one of the best, from all rooms and the tremendous porch on that side of the home.  Even the other side had other green, lush mountain views.

Then there are homes that are valued at several hundred thousand to a million dollars plus, and the views, though different, are just as spectacular and some more so, but also viewed from a more modern and much larger home, with every amenity times two.

Even homes without a view of the world-famous, out-of-this-world red rocks are in various types of neighborhoods, each one with its own type of allure. Though in the high desert, many people may get the wrong idea and think that it is all stark and bland sandy desert color here. Nothing is further from the truth; it is quite lush and very much green green, and more green. Couple that with blow-your-mind, huge red rock formations, and we are surrounded by brilliant color at every turn. Everywhere people walk, stroll, hike, bicycle, and chat with neighbors outdoors. You probably see that in your town’s neighborhoods too.

I desire a wonderful red rock view from the windows of my next living abode, and I am seeing many available in my price range. Yet so many yards and neighborhoods are bountifully beautiful even sans the red rock sights, that they easily can make my heart thrill, and if the residence feels like home to me more than a home with a red rock view, the upside is that I will still see the views from almost everywhere in Sedona anyway!

Is it time to change neighborhoods, or beautify your home and garden, wherever in the world you reside, to thrill your heart and that of your family, friends, guests and neighbors? Before I lived in Sedona, a friend painted various rooms for me, and the den was painted a gorgeous red rock color, which spoke to my soul 200% more than the white wall it was previously. Perhaps install an outdoor fountain to hear the soothing sounds of water, and an indoor one to help you sleep.

With the once-a-year New Moon in Gemini opening the gates on June 8 for all things Gemini to really activate, that would be a great time to begin your home and neighborhood beautification and neighborly getting to know you.  Maybe you’ll want to get some new outdoor seating, inviting you to enjoy the scenery of your own back yard, or neighborhood

Gemini rules every form of communication, commerce, ordinary transportation, and things with moving parts, including everything on our body we have two of. Notice there will be more talking, emailing, writing anything, selling, even gossip (curb that), driving, shipping, learning, teaching and more, as well as putting the focus on neighbors and neighborhoods, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles and cousins. We’re ready to use our hands more like tinkering with mechanical things, typing, playing an instrument, or planting, painting, knitting; you get the picture. We’ll have more fun going places with others. We may juggle more than usual, so be cautious not to overload yourself. Don’t text and drive.

Pay more attention to your breathing and lungs by taking deeper breaths from your diaphragm; not so shallow or quickly. Time for scurrying around the neighborhood to book stores, coffee shops, shopping and the like. Learn how to enjoy life more and live in the moment, yet be careful not to say anything you don’t mean or know to be true, just to speak. Careful of superficiality or deception. No cheating please.

If you’re bar-hopping, know that everyone will be extra flirtatious, charming and funny, so take your time to really get to know people, even if they seemingly say all the right things. Careful of smoking or drinking too much if you’re nervous. Breathe. You don’t want to end up passed out on your neighbor’s lawn with regrets, being the talk of the town! Instead be the most charming, playful and thoughtful in the hood. Let the games begin!
