Prescribed burning will take place in Oak Creek Canyon on Thursday and Friday, Jan. 10 and 11.
According to a press release issued by Connie Birkland, public information officer for the Red Rock Ranger District of the Coconino National Forest, U.S. Forest Service crews are conducting burns over a 5-acre area to remove wood debris piles east of Indian Gardens.
This is part of a continuous hazardous fuels reduction program along private property boundaries and the National Forest.
