The common folk, common ground, commonality, common sense, common objective, common practice, commonplace, common knowledge, common thread, common garden variety, common cold.
Usual, conforming, ordinary, plain, familiar, popular, routine, usual, standard, normal, average, run-of-the-mill, unremarkable, expected, prevailing.
We grow up and continue, wanting to be part of the crowd, accepted… and pattern ourselves after the types we desire to spend time with. We may wear black, T-shirt or suit, pierce, tattoo, wear hair in classic or trendy style, or maybe never comb it; even dreadlocks became common.
Interestingly, some just want to stand out to show they are nonconformists, but what we show on the outer is less informative than what we reveal and demonstrate from within our self.
How common is it to avoid rocking the boat, by introducing a new concept or perception to those who cling safely to the familiar, usual, standard and normal practices? We don’t want to shock and make enemies by being abrasive to those who embrace what prevails. Time and again we may meet with dismissive or condescending response, but slow and sure will open the door.
Does run-of-the-mill describe how you want to be perceived as a thinker? Consider that even if one is politically right, left, independent, liberal… they all have a set of beliefs in its closed up little box. Predictability is commonplace. Each work hard at negating anything the perceived opponent puts forth. Ho hum, nothing gets done.
Would you like to be an influencer of new thought? Pick any life subject at all and realize your contribution may take thinking outside the box.
Might you be unremarkable in that you stretch your philosophical boundaries only within what is accepted as common knowledge, common practice, commonly taught? Do you name everything else rubbish, ridiculous or woo woo?
Perhaps you reach to be remarkable in common ways such as winning a race or working long hours? Have you written a popular book or created an inspired piece of art? Trekked a long journey?
Let’s not diminish anything we have done in our lives to date, bravo! Yet we have capacities within us that have only just begun to be tapped and the muscle is easy to strengthen.
Pushing boundaries beyond those we have already met is amazing, like not attracting/catching the common cold because we stop believing it is commonplace. Use the natural law of attraction for your benefit. It’s based in our conscious and unconscious beliefs, so take time for a mind check up.
It takes uncommon courage stretching to greater possibilities we may not have even entertained as possible heretofore. A religiously worshipped icon, who didn’t constrain inside boxed up religious rules and regulations, and who commonly performed what we call miracles, once was quoted, you can do greater things than I. Are we conforming to any kind of rules without questioning?
Climbed Mount Everest but not climbed outside your neat and tidy box of perceived consciousness, wrapped with ribbon tied in a knot, and a bow on top? Seen something you couldn’t explain but afraid to tell anyone?
Perhaps you have already climbed higher, into your waking intuition, realize your sleeping dreams are conversing with you for your best interests and showing you future possibilities in advance. Do you notice the synchronicities nudging you to really see that there are no coincidences or accidents?
You may have taken a journey into past lives, or had an out-of-body experience. C’mon, we’ve all had a feeling of who was on the phone before answering.
Even courageous walkers in the light always have a next step, next horizon to engage. It’s all thrilling, fascinating, exciting, gives us more knowing that there is definitely a higher consciousness at work helping us understand life and beyond, so remember everyone has a light for you, no matter how they may look, or even if they are disembodied and their attire is translucent white light.
Perhaps learn to live by faith that all is well. We are always loved and cherished by mother/father God, everything has a higher reason we are to learn from, and you have always had all the power within you, as the Good Witch Glenda told us in the Wizard of Oz.
Take the yellow brick road, the uncommon road, the high road, the road less traveled, and climb out of a limiting box.
It may be common practice and safe to follow the lead amid common folk who fuss and complain passionately and often, yet you might be saving your own self by not stressing. What an uncommon idea!
If you can help a situation, lovely and do it, but reach to do so with faith in a higher, all-knowing, overseeing miraculous loving power so you can use your free will to keep your blood pressure calm.
An uncommonly wonderful, peaceful, joyous, beautiful, abundant vision always awaits for us allowing it to unfold and be seen, as we boldly take the next step and dare to be different. Lead the way.
Study astrology; use it in your conversation. After all it is a heavenly language meant to inform and guide us in our best interests, not entertainment or folly.
You get what you give. Open hearts with your own open heart of unconditional, non-judgmental loving and accepting all people. We are made of a common thread; God sourced.
Look again at the common concepts of right and wrong. Can some be tweaked? Uncommon sense means opening up our senses to the extra-ordinary.
Can we notice that something in us needed an experience to grow our own selves, such as a person finally realizing and asking themselves, it’s not about how that person treats me, but about how long will I allow myself to be treated this way, or asking even more uncommonly, to see the bigger picture that it is and was a gift for growth?
If I am jumping in and participating in disharmony, that was my decision so I have asked for and allowed it. I also have a choice to be a peaceful warrior taking a different path, with a consciousness of expecting great outcomes, rather than commonly focusing on fear, expecting problems and coaching the ego to, ‘Bring it on.’ Our parents and teachers can talk, and I can read, yet if that doesn’t ‘take’ I will learn from experience.
It’s not about flogging one’s self about mis-takes made, but noticing how we have grown to do things differently by having learned from experience. We have a different take on things. Those who know about the mis-takes have the ability to reach for uncommon conversations with the higher self, to evolve as well, thereby the many may become better for it !
Consider, does severe punishment really always make us do better, or do you notice that we excel when nurtured, patiently listened to and spoken to, a hand held and supported as we try again, on a different path. Always honor yourself no matter what. We can love ourselves in different ways than before.
You may think some new, uncommon ways are ‘out there’ and yet, there was a new way introduced to the world when our religious icons brought us spirituality in the first place. Love your neighbor as yourself. Forgive those who trespassed. Let’s start there as common practice.
